Nobuhiro Masuda is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Design, Kyushu University, Japan. He earned his Ph.D. in Literature from Kobe University, Japan, specializing in aesthetics and art theory. His research interests include the historical relationship between visual technologies such as photography and scientific discourses in modernity. He has also extended his research to include visual cultures and biomedia art/design, examining these issues from the perspective of media theory and aesthetics as a study of the senses.
