Andy Birtwistle

Andy Birtwistle is Reader in Film and Sound at Canterbury Christ Church University, UK, and is the author of Cinesonica: Sounding Film and Video (Manchester University Press, 2010). While specialising on research in film sound, Andy also writes on sonic arts and culture, artists’ film and video, and East Asian cinema. He is also a sound artist and filmmaker whose work has been screened, exhibited and broadcast internationally.
