Richard Scott

Born in the UK with UK and German citizenship
Richard is an Electroacoustic composer and improviser focused on modular synthesis. Collaborators include Axel Dörner, Thomas Lehn, Ute Wassermann, Sidsel Endresen, Audrey Chen and Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin.

His work featured on KONTAKTE Biennale für Elektroakustische Musik und Klangkunst, Festival International Musique Actuelle Victoriaville, International Computer Music Conferences, SMC Conference, London Jazz Festival, Konfrontationen and Moers Festivals.

He has released albums with Evan Parker, Axel Dörner, Audrey Chen, David
Sylvian, Twinkle3, Bark! and many solo albums, including The Magnificence of Stereo, Several Circles, Bastard Science, Everything is Always at Once and Delirious Cartographies.

He initiated two editions of the Sines & Squares festival at Manchester University, focused on modular and analogue synthesis, and the Electronic Luthérie conference Orpheus Institute. He curated several concert series in Berlin since 2011.

Richard holds Ph D.s on Improvised Music, the University of London, 1992, and a Portfolio of Electroacoustic Compositions, University of Manchester, 2020.

He currently leads a Master’s degree in Creative Production (Music) at Catalyst Institute, Berlin.
